Speed Dating Tips
Remember everybody is in the same boat. It's natural to feel nervous but, as the evening goes on, you'll relax into it more and more and your true colours will shine! Once the evening gets underway, you will relax into the atmosphere and find yourself wishing there was more time.
These are some tips to help you to feel more confident.
What to Wear
First impressions count so whether you are arriving at a speed dating event from work or have had time to change remember how you dress gives someone an instant overview of how you feel about yourself. We recommend that you don’t try and be something you are not so wear what you would feel comfortable in.
What to Say
Four minutes goes very quickly. If you are not careful you could end up just talking about yourself and not finding anything out about your date! On the other hand be careful not to interrogate someone!
We recommend that you have a few questions prepared just in case you get stuck at any point. Try and keep a balance between finding out about your date and giving them some idea of what you are like.

We advise mixing your questions up otherwise you start saying the same thing with everybody. Also make sure you let the other person ask some questions.
Body Language
How you sit, talk and act when you are meeting with someone gives a big impression to the other person about what you are like. Eye contact and a smile is always a good start. Try and relax and be yourself.
What if I am not attracted to someone?
If someone is not your type but you get on well and have similar interests you may still want to see that person as a friend. Just remember his / her friend could be the person you fall in love with! Widening your social circles is always a positive experience.
